3. Here are the forms of assistance that are available to  you:

a. VA Compromise Sale

Veterans with a VA loan may be eligible for a VA Compromise Sale. This program allows them to sell the property for less than the amount owed on the mortgage, and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) may help negotiate with the lender to accept the shortfall. The veteran must demonstrate financial hardship, and the VA must approve the sale before it can proceed.

b. Relocation Assistance

The VA offers certain benefits to help you with the costs associated with relocating after a short sale. This assistance can include reimbursement for expenses such as moving costs, temporary lodging, and storage of household goods.

c. VA Loan Guaranty:

If the short sale does not result in full repayment of the mortgage debt, the VA loan guaranty may help you from being held liable for the remaining amount. The VA guarantees a portion of the loan, so if the lender suffers a loss due to the short sale, the VA may cover a portion of that loss.
